Marnin Studio

Marnin Studio is a therapeutic healing space where women come to create, learn and relax. We combine a strength-based, community led, therapeutic approach to empowerment, working on the ground with women and their families. We walk, talk and create together, linking like-minded people to create positive change.

Set in the beautiful gardens of Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre, Marnin Studio grew from the creative interests of Bunuba, Gooniyandi, Wankatjunka, Walmajarri and Nykina women. An initial focus on textile printing and sewing for the home, has blossomed into a hub that supports the development of ideas into marketable products and financial opportunities. Think design, textiles, jewellery, homewares. Our fashion label, Design Within Country, was also born from this space. The work reflects the designer’s deep knowledge of the local environment, culture and community.

One of Marnin Studio’s greatest successes has been the way it is connecting urban and remote creatives into a nationwide network of support, sharing each other’s homes, studios, cultural and industry knowledge.

We are grassroots, aspirational, inclusive and adaptive.
