Community Comes Together for a Successful NAIDOC Celebration
It was wonderful to see the Marninwarntikura gardens filled with Community members, families, local organisations, staff, performers, and artists coming together to celebrate NAIDOC Week.
The afternoon was full of music, laughter, great food, and Community spirit. Events like these remind us of the strength of our Community and the importance of creating opportunities to come together, celebrate culture and connect with one another.
A sincere thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. Whether you prepared food, performed on stage, entertained children, visited the studio markets, helped with cleanup or simply came along to enjoy the afternoon, your presence helped create a welcoming and vibrant celebration.
We would also like to acknowledge the many staff, volunteers and supporters who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. From planning and set-up through to packing away at the end of the day, their hard work, teamwork and commitment ensured the event ran smoothly. Community events like this simply would not be possible without their dedication.
Thank you also to our Community partners for sharing your talents, products and stories with everyone who attended.
NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are proud to have celebrated alongside our Community and look forward to continuing to create opportunities that bring people together, strengthen connections and celebrate the rich cultures of the Fitzroy Valley.
