Congratulations to the Baya Gawiy Team at the SNAICC Early Years Forum

Baya Gawiy Lead, Amy Menzies, presented on the culturally informed and community-led work being delivered through Baya Gawiy in Fitzroy Crossing, highlighting the importance of culture, relationships, early intervention and holistic family support in creating strong outcomes for children and families.

The presentation reflected the unique model of care and learning that sits at the heart of Baya Gawiy, including the integration of early childhood education, Child and Parent Centre supports, family engagement, language and culture, and community connection.

The team also shared the Marurru healing framework and spoke about the importance of culturally safe, trauma-informed and place-based approaches to supporting children and families in the early years.

We are incredibly proud of Amy and the Baya Gawiy team for representing the work so strongly on a national stage and contributing to important conversations about Aboriginal-led early childhood education and care.

The forum has also provided a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, strengthen relationships and share knowledge with organisations and practitioners working across the country to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.

Congratulations Amy and the whole Baya Gawiy team.
