Revealed: Marnin Studio Artists Showcase Culture, Connection and Creativity

The selected artists showcased a stunning collection of pit-fired ceramics created during a workshop facilitated by Tanya Lee:

  • Deborah Yadda
  • Kiera Holloway
  • Nita Williams
  • Mary George
  • Sally Marvin
  • Caitlyn Williams
  • Lillian Spinks

Each ceramic piece carried its own distinct story, shaped by the hands of the artist and marked by the textures, colours and traces of Country. The pit-firing process leaves behind the imprint of land, smoke, season and time, creating works that are deeply individual and connected to place.

Representing Marnin Studio at the exhibition in Boorloo (Perth) were exhibiting artist Nita Williams and Arts Coordinator and studio artist Charline Davis, who joined artists and art centres from across the state in celebrating Aboriginal creativity, storytelling and cultural practice.

To be surrounded by so many talented practitioners from across Western Australia was energising and inspiring. Revealed created a powerful space for connection, support and celebration between Aboriginal artists working across different mediums, communities and generations. From emerging artists to established leaders in the sector, the sense of pride and encouragement shared throughout the exhibition was deeply felt.

Following the exhibition, Marnin Studio also participated in the Revealed Art Market, bringing a vibrant collection of works for the public to experience and purchase. The stall featured painted Boab seeds, block-printed cushion covers, screen-printed tea towels, naturally bush-dyed silk scarves and bespoke clothing pieces.

Throughout the market, artists shared stories behind their designs and connected with visitors from across Perth and beyond. The event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate culture, strengthen relationships within the Aboriginal arts community and share the work of Marnin Studio with wider audiences.

We congratulate all participating artists and thank AACHWA and Revealed for continuing to create important platforms for Aboriginal artists, stories and cultural expression across Western Australia.
